Deep in the rugged bushveld, in the heart of an ancient volcano, lies the world’s most unique resort, the internationally acclaimed Sun City. The Resort has a unique heartbeat and an African rhythm of its own and is unlike any other Resort destination in the world.
26 October we went to the well known Sun City for our Gr.7 farewell. It was truly amazing and even more beautiful than I imagined. There was so much to do in such little time. At 09:30 we arrived at the magnificent gates. The bus took us for a ride across the grounds. The bus then left us at the main entrance and slowly we started to walk through the entertainment center. We stood there in awe as we entered the valley of waves, where we spent most of our day.
We removed our shoes and started walking with our feet in the warm crisp sand. We then went to change and got ourselves lockers. We then decided to go on the lazy river first ,which then soon was more of a race than anything else. While everyone else was relaxing we just couldn’t stay still and started racing. After we finally came to the conclusion that the lifeguards where not so impressed with the race we want to the “ocean” and swam for at least 2 hours. The waves came and came and spinned us like never before. We had so much fun splashing we never realized it was time to get lunch. We ran as quick as we could and ate as fast as we could just to get back into the bright warm sun. We then did some slides, of which the “Mamba” was my favourite, but soon enough it was time to head home.
As we rode back in the bus, I couldn’t help but wonder how a day we waited to long for could go by so fast. Always enjoy every little moment of life because it goes by incredibly fast…
