Starting a blog has drastically changed my life. Not only have I started a blog but I have also started a business. The best part is that I get to do what I love (writing) and I get to help people build their brands and start their own businesses. It is truly an amazing career.
Are you thinking of starting a blog but you’re just not quite convinced yet? Hopefully this article can help and encourage you to join the wonderful world of blogging. The benefits are endless. Here are 10 of them!
This is one of the main reasons that I started blogging. It is the type of career where you have total freedom. Your only boss is yourself and the income you make depends totally on you yourself. The amount of effort you put in is the amount of results you get.
But that is not the only freedom you get. You also have:
-Freedom to post when you want
-Freedom to design your days however you please
-Freedom to travel the world and still continue blogging
-Freedom to wake up whenever you want
-Freedom to post the content you’re passionate about
Disclaimer – I am not yet a full time blogger but I am working towards it –
This career gives me the liberty to work from anywhere in the world. I can blog and write wherever I go as long as there’s internet. It gives me the opportunity to travel the world and still continue doing what I love and making an income out of it.
Blogging is something that needs to be done consistently and the more you do it the better you get. Blogging has allowed me to become a better writer and explore different topics of writing. I would usually only write fiction and fantasy as it was and will always be my favourite genre, but since I’ve been blogging it has given me the opportunity to learn about different writing styles and subjects.
It will also increase your vocabulary immensely as you’ll be writing thousands of words weekly. It can allow you to find your own style of writing and has helped me write more about topics that matter to me and others like me. There really isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t either write or journal.
Blogging can be a fun and creative way to share information about topics that are important to you, but it can also make you some money. You can literally make money in your sleep with blogging. Here are some main income streams when it comes to blogging:
– Through ads on your site
– Affiliate marketing – selling other people’s products
– Sponsored posts
– Selling your own digital products
– Services like coaching
You also have complete control over your income. You get to determine the prices of your products and the amount of people you can reach is endless.
Although making money online is great, the best part of this career is that I get to help others with the content I create. A lot of my content consists of productivity and personal development articles that can improve people’s lives, whether it’s about saving time or staying positive I know that it can benefit someone out there.
Never start a blog just for the money, because at the end of the day that’s not what matters most. You have to care about your readers because it’s always going to be about solving their problems. It’s really important to start for the right reasons. The money is just a by-product of the value you are giving people through your content.
Whatever the niche or theme of your blog, whether it’s personal development or something totally different, starting a blog is an amazing way to boost your self esteem. Since I have started blogging I have learned so much not only about myself but also about my readers. Sometimes with blogging there can be obstacles or problems, but that’s how we grow and become better.
Blogging can sometimes get lonely since you work at home and not at an office with other people like some other careers. One way to make it less lonely is to reach out to other bloggers. Its super simple with all the different social platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. It’s always nice to meet people with aspirations and goals a lot like your own.
As I’ve said before, you will be your own boss. The amount of effort you put in will most certainly reflect in the results you get. The minute you click that Publish button you become the CEO of your own business.
And as you are your own boss there is no one to report to but yourself. It comes with a lot of responsibility because there is once again no one to hold accountable but yourself. But it can be such a huge perk because you get to do the following:
-You call the shots.
-You decide when you take time off.
-You design your days the way you want.
-You can wake up when you want
-Your income depends totally on you.
You can start a blog with very little money. All that you need to purchase is your website domain. Just keep in mind that as your business begins to grow; your expenses will grow as well.
Yes, that’s right. Anyone with a laptop and internet connection can start a blog. You don’t have to be tech savvy to start a blog. There are hundreds, if not thousands of tutorials to choose from when it comes to the layout of the website. And if you don’t want to go through the struggle of designing or building the website you can hire a website builder.
I can talk forever about all the perks of blogging and the business side of it all. And no 2020 is not too late to get started, you can start anytime, anywhere you want.
