Sometimes life changes so drastically and suddenly that we don’t really get the chance to process and accept the change.
That leaves us with a feeling of being stuck.
Unable to go back to the way things were and not ready to truly move forward and accept the way things are now.
I’ve dealt with feeling stuck before and let me tell you; It’s no fun at all.
Since you’re here, I can only guess that you’ve had or are having the same experience.
Let’s get you from stuck to unstuck right now and today.
Feeling stuck isn’t something literal like being unable to physically move.
It’s an emotion and thought process that we create for ourselves.
Our thoughts are the reason we feel a certain way or have certain emotions.
The moment you change the way you think is the moment you start creating different results.
• Thought Process: “I’m never going to achieve my goals. Everyone is ahead of me, and I’m still stuck in the same place.”
• Emotion: Stuck or Hopeless
• Action: Giving up and not working towards your dreams
• Results: Mediocre. Always stuck in the same place with no new results.
We act based on our emotions, and our actions determine our results.
Therefore your thoughts control your results.
Change the way you think, and your whole life will change.
Self-awareness is the first step to becoming unstuck.
Feeling hopeless doesn’t just appear out of nowhere.
Why are you feeling this way? What has brought you here?
Our thoughts combined with our beliefs create our emotions, and since feeling stuck is an emotion, we need to uncover what thoughts or beliefs are behind it.
Once you uncover this thought or belief, you’re already halfway closer to getting rid of it.
I’ve mentioned before how much I love journaling.
It’s worked wonders for me, and I will never stop recommending it.
However, you don’t need to start a whole journal to find out what thoughts are dragging you down.
You can simply get out a piece of paper and write down all the things swirling around in your head.
Underline the most triggering ones.
For example: “I’m never going to achieve my goals. Everyone is ahead of me, and I’m still stuck in the same place.”
Go through what you’ve written down.
Then ask yourself: “Is this positive? Is it serving my goals?”
If the answer is no, it’s time for something to change.
Ask yourself, how can you change these negative thoughts into something positive?
What if instead of…
“I’m never going to achieve my goals. Everyone is ahead of me, and I’m still stuck in the same place.”
You changed it to…
“I may still be working my 9-5 job while others have their own businesses, but that doesn’t mean I can’t work hard and change that. Everyone has to start somewhere.”
Woah! See how much differently you can view things when you change your perspective.
Now let’s take a look at the results of this improved thought:
• Thought Process: “I may still be working my 9-5 job while others have their own businesses, but that doesn’t mean I can’t work hard and change that. Everyone has to start somewhere.”
• Emotion: Hopeful and Motivated to get started
• Action: Take action towards achieving goals and dreams
• Results: One step closer to where we want to be.
In order to move forward and get unstuck you need to have something to move toward (a.k.a. your goals)
Let your goals be the driving force that propels you from being stuck to taking action.
You need to figure out:
• What do I really want?
• What makes me happy?
• What dream do I want to chase?
• What goals am I willing to work for?
Deep down, you know what you want, and you know whether you’re willing to work for it.
A passionate goal will inspire you and make you feel more alive – and a lot less stuck.
Be clear about you want and go for it!
Pay attention to the thoughts you’ve been having and if they make you feel stuck, figure out a way to change them.
The more you practice a positive mindset, the easier it will be to maintain one.
To get better results – choose better thoughts.
